BBP is FSC Certified
Boston Business Printing is making better choices for the environment. In addition to being a certified FSC printer, the emissions from a portion of the electricity used to operate our facility are offset with credits from certified wind power energy.
What is FSC? FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is an independent non-profit, non-governmental organization. It was established in 1993 to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
BBP supports the need for sustainable resources and has completed a rigorous certification process to become a printer with FSC Chain of Custody Certification.
The stewardship explains the mission as a forum that garners “global consensus on responsible forest management …through a democratic process [that] effects solutions to the pressures facing the world’s forests and forest-dependent communities. Within this forum, voices from the Global North and South, from organizations big and small, assemble to define environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management and identify the tools and resources that will effect positive, lasting change.”
The best part is, that FSC certification provides a credible link between responsible production and the consumption of forest products. This enables you and your company to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment, as well as providing your company with viable product.
BBP Joins the Global Vision
FSC certification is voluntary and supports responsible forest management worldwide. FSC certified forest products are verified from the forest of origin through the supply chain. The FSC label ensures that the forest products used are from responsibly harvested and verified sources.
FSC certification provides a mechanism for companies, organizations, and communities to demonstrate their commitment to responsible forest management and to be part of a global solution.
